Sometimes, your mechanic may forget to reset your Toyota Camry’s maintenance light after performing an oil change or other routine services. Or if you changed your own engine oil, you’ll need to manually turn off the maintenance light on your vehicle’s dashboard.
We got you covered! Here’s our super easy guide on how to turn off the oil maintenance light on your 2012 Toyota Camry. We provide you two methods:
Method 1
Turn your ignition to the ON position (2 clicks)
Push the "stick-like" button on the right corner of your dashboard once. This will change your odometer display to “Trip A”
Turn your ignition off
Turn your ignition back on (2 clicks) while holding the "stick-like" button on the right corner of your dashboard. You should do both at the same time. Hold it till you see the miles reset to zero.
And that’s it! You should see your “Trip A” miles reset to 0, which means you’ve successfully reset your maintenance light.

Method 2
Plug-in your OBD2 scanner to the DLC port. Keep your ignition on.
Press “Menu” and navigate to “Service Resets”
Select “Oil Reset”
Follow in-device instructions
Quite simple, right?
For this 2012 Toyota Camry, our scanners do not support oil reset within the app itself. It'll only tell you verified instructions on how to reset it manually.
However, our scanners are also capable of reseting your maintenance light directly from the scanner, depending on the type of vehicle you have. For example, our scanner is able to reset the maintenance light of a 2018 Audi Q3 with just a few button clicks.
