Phone Pairing Overview

To use the Bluetooth system in your 2015 Chevrolet Equinox, a Bluetooth-enabled phone must first be paired with the vehicle. This process establishes a connection between the phone and the vehicle's system, enabling hands-free calling, audio streaming, and other Bluetooth functions. Refer to your phone’s user guide for specific instructions on activating Bluetooth before starting the pairing process.

Pairing Information

  • A Bluetooth phone with MP3 capability cannot be paired as both a phone and an MP3 player simultaneously.
  • The system allows up to five phones to be paired.
  • Pairing cannot be performed while the vehicle is in motion.
  • The pairing process only needs to be completed once, unless the phone's pairing information is updated or removed from the system.
  • Only one paired phone can connect to the system at a time.
  • When multiple paired phones are within range, the system connects to the phone that was paired first. To switch to another paired phone, see the "Linking to a Different Phone" section below.
