To read trouble codes:

1. Connect the Innova 1000 to the vehicle's OBD-II port.
2. Turn on the vehicle's ignition.
3. Follow the in-app (RepairSolutions2) screen instructions to scan for trouble codes.
4. After scanning, the device will display any stored trouble code. If your check engine light is on, we tell you the primary DTC responsible for it as well as how to fix it.

Yes, the Innova 1000 can clear trouble codes. After identifying and addressing the issue, you can use the tool to erase the codes from the vehicle's computer.

The Innova 1000 is compatible with most OBD-II compliant vehicles, typically those manufactured from 1996 onwards. It supports a wide range of car makes and models.

The Innova 1000 supports OBD2 parameters such as RPM, short/long term fuel trim, mass air flow, engine coolant temperature, throttle position, and intake manifold absolute pressure.

All data is retrieved in live time and can be viewed in graph or table form. It does not support OEM live data.

If the Innova 1000 is not turning on:

1. Ensure it is properly connected to the vehicle’s OBD-II port.
2. Check the vehicle's battery to ensure it has enough charge.
3. Inspect the device and cables for any physical damage.
4. Try connecting it to another vehicle to rule out any issues with the OBD-II port.

NOTE: Do not attempt Bluetooth pairing outside of the RS2 app. Doing so may result in connection issues.

Although our device/app works on all domestic, foreign, and Asian vehicles, it will not work outside of the United States, Canada, or Mexico. Our products are region-restricted.

You may have seen some scanners already advertising they have updates for next years vehicles and wonder why we're behind.

It is because we're an authentic data licenser of OEM data and we follow the rules.  Most other scanner businesses are not getting their data legally/lawfully.

OEMs will release updates for manufacturer specific scan tools in anticipation for new vehicle releases, so they supply updates for their $20,000+ scanners before the new cars hit the market, then months or years later they release how to do the same for aftermarket businesses like Innova.

Unethical scanner companies hack OEM scanners to put that data into their products, which they then sell to Americans as subscription updates.  Which is how they're able to get their updates out quickly.

Regardless of how it is spun by 3rd party site (many of which were bought and paid for by the defendants) - read the original claim for the lawsuits - it usually goes like this:

"Ford claims that ... obtained access to Ford's proprietary automobile-diagnostic software, hacked it, copied proprietary information, and pasted that information into ... own diagnostic software."

If you buy one of these unethical scanners, you run the risk of having your scanner bricked anytime.

In comparison, Innova has never been sued by a vehicle manufacturer despite selling the most scan tools by number and being one of the earliest diagnostic scanner companies in USA.

Since Innova is an aftermarket supplier, we wait for manufacturers to release their info for the aftermarket.  From their documentation, we then digest this massive amount of information on new vehicles, and engineer and verify the 1000s of features / function on each new vehicle.  To make your updating experience as simple as possible, we provide one large update to cover all makes and models each year.  So we have to digest, engineer, and test all the vehicles included in that update and that takes time.

This is a huge engineering effort that takes nearly a 100 dedicated engineers and field testers to carry out.  This why scanners that do more than scan read / erase codes usually charge for their updates. As a reminder - your updates are free.
