How much can it actually carry?
The 3996 is rated to a 45 lb weight capacity, and the handle is reinforced with a steel cable so it can take that full load. The bag itself weighs 7.5 lbs empty.
Will my scan tool fit in the top compartment?
The diagnostic scanner compartment is designed to securely hold Innova tablets and handheld scanners, including larger sizes — dongles, DIY code readers and full-size pro scan tools.
Is a work light included with the mounting point?
No. The bag includes an integrated metal mounting panel inside so you can attach any magnetic work light you already own. The magnetic flashlight itself is not included.
Is it waterproof?
It's water resistant, not waterproof. The rugged nylon build is made to protect against everyday shop and job-site conditions — rain on the walk to the bay, spills, damp concrete.
Does it stand up on its own when loaded?
Yes. A wide, reinforced base gives it a sturdy foundation that helps prevent tipping, so the bag stays upright and everything stays securely in place.
How are the 74 pockets divided up?
47 in the large inside compartments (20 × 1/2" socket sleeves, 13 wrench, 8 plier, 6 screwdriver), 22 × 3/8" socket sleeves in the magnetic workstation, 4 across the side compartments (3 ratchet accessory, 1 multimeter) and 1 large electronic pocket in the scanner compartment.
