Occasionally, your mechanic may overlook resetting the maintenance light on your Honda HR-V following an oil change or other standard maintenance. If you’ve done the oil change yourself, fear not! It’s simple to manually disable the maintenance light on your dashboard.
Here’s a straightforward guide to turning off the maintenance light on your 2016 Honda HR-V. We offer two methods:
Method 1
Turn your ignition to the ON position (without holding your brake)
Press the protruding “stick” on your dashboard. Press it multiple times until you see the Oil Life dashboard.
Turn your car off
Turn vehicle back on (no brakes)
Press the protruding “stick” and hold it until you see the screen flash. Then, let go.
Now that the screen is flashing, press the protruding “stick” for another 5 seconds. Doing so should change your oil life back to 100%.
And that’s it! You’ve successfully reset your oil maintenance light.
