The Innova 3100 (not to be confused with the Innova 3100RS) was our hottest selling OBD2 scanner back in the early 2000s. It launched in July 2001 at O'Reilly's Auto Parts stores nationwide, and it sold like hotcakes.
This product was how Innova become a well-known brand in the automotive community. But if you still own the Innova 3100 in 2024, it may be time to get an upgrade.

Why you should consider upgrading your Innova 3100
The Innova 3100 was and still is a great tool. However, thanks to our brilliant engineers and mechanics here at Innova, we've been able to create a much more comprehensive tool capable of advanced diagnostics.
It can't diagnose vehicles newer than 2006
The Innova 3100 does not support the CAN (Controller Area Network) protocol, which is essential for communicating with most vehicles made in 2006 or later. This means you won't be able to use the Innova 3100 on newer cars, as they require the CAN protocol for diagnostics.
It has limited diagnostic options
Unlike our latest diagnostic scanners, the Innova 3100 is limited to pretty basic diagnostic features. While this may have been enough back in the early 2000s, modern vehicles require modern solutions.
It can't connect to RepairSolutions2
Most of our latest diagnostic scanners are able to connect to RepairSolutions2 - also known as America's highest rated repair app. There are so many useful features within the app such as free access to technical service bulletins (TSBs), most likely fixes for your trouble codes, maintenance items, and more.
Once you connect the tool to your PC, you should see the screen change on your PC app.
