In modern vehicles, the "Power Windows" feature is a standard convenience that enhances both comfort and functionality. The "Power Windows" feature on a 2012 Ford Fusion allows drivers and passengers to easily adjust the windows with the touch of a button, making it simple to open or close them without the need for manual cranking. This is especially helpful for quick adjustments while driving or for ensuring airflow within the cabin. This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to operate the power windows effectively in your 2012 Ford Fusion L4 2.5L.

Press and lift the window switches to raise and lower the windows.

When one or both rear windows are open, the vehicle may experience a wind throb or buffeting sound. To reduce this noise, lower a front window by about 2–3 inches (5–8 cm).
This feature enables the driver’s window (and the passenger’s window, if equipped) to fully open or close with a single press, without needing to hold the control.
Press and hold the open key on the remote transmitter to start opening the two front windows and, if equipped, to vent the moonroof.
The open key control can be released, and the windows will continue to open while the moonroof fully vents.
The open or lock key control can be released, and the windows will continue to open while the moonroof fully vents.

If an obstacle is detected in the window opening while the window is moving up, the window will automatically reverse and move down. This is called "bounce-back." If the ignition is turned off (without accessory delay being active) during bounce-back, the window will move down until it reaches the bounce-back position.
To override a bounce-back situation, within two seconds of the window reaching the bounce-back position, pull and hold the switch up, and the window will move up without bounce-back or pinch protection. If the switch is released before the window is completely closed, it will stop. This can be useful, for example, to overcome resistance from ice on the window or seals.
The window lock function ensures that only the driver and front passenger can control the power windows.
To disable all window controls (except for the driver and front passenger), press the right side of the control. Press the left side to reactivate the window controls.

With accessory delay, you can operate the window switches, audio system, and moonroof (if equipped) for up to 10 minutes after the ignition is switched off, or until any front door is opened.
