Introduction

In modern vehicles, interior lighting plays a vital role in ensuring convenience and safety, especially during nighttime driving or when accessing your vehicle in low-light conditions. The interior lighting system in the 2015 Hyundai Veloster L4 1.6L is designed to provide functional illumination while maintaining a sleek and user-friendly experience. It enhances visibility inside the cabin, allowing drivers and passengers to locate items, adjust settings, or enter and exit the vehicle with ease. This article provides a comprehensive step-by-step guide on how to operate the interior lighting system in your 2015 Hyundai Veloster.

How to set/use the system

Warning

  • Avoid using the interior lights for long periods when the engine is off, as this can drain the battery.
  • Avoid using the interior lights while driving at night, as they can impair visibility and potentially lead to an accident.

Auto shut-off feature (if available)

When all doors are closed and the vehicle is locked using the remote or smart key, all interior lights will turn off within 5 seconds.

If no actions are taken inside the vehicle after the engine is turned off, the lights will automatically turn off after 20 minutes.

The map lamp provides a focused beam ideal for nighttime map reading or as a personal light for the driver and front passenger. Press the lens (1) to activate or deactivate the map lamp.

DOOR Mode: In this setting, both the map lamp and room lamp illuminate when any door is opened, regardless of the ignition switch position. If doors are unlocked using the transmitter (or smart key), the lights stay on for approximately 30 seconds unless a door is opened. They fade out after 30 seconds if the door is closed. However, if the ignition is ON or all doors are locked, the lights turn off instantly. If a door is opened with the ignition in ACC or LOCK, the lights remain on for aprroximately 20 minutes. With the ignition ON, the lights stay on continuously.

ON Mode: The map lamp and room lamp remain on at all times.

OFF Mode: The lights stay off even when a door is opened.

NOTE: If the lamp is turned on by pressing the lens (1), it will not turn off even when the switch (2) is in the OFF position.

It gradually dims and turns off after 30 seconds if the door is closed. However, if the ignition is ON or all doors are locked, the light shuts off immediately.
