Introduction
Modern vehicles are designed with versatility and convenience in mind, and the 2015 Hyundai Veloster L4 1.6L is no exception. The rear seats in this model are engineered to fold down effortlessly, allowing for expanded cargo space and enabling drivers to transport larger items with ease. This feature is particularly useful for road trips, shopping runs, or any situation requiring additional storage capacity. By providing a practical solution for maximizing space, the foldable rear seats enhance the overall functionality of the Veloster. This article provides a detailed, step-by-step guide on how to properly fold the rear seats in your 2015 Hyundai Veloster L4 1.6L.
How to Properly Fold the Rear Seats
The fold-down rear seatbacks are designed to help you transport longer items that wouldn't fit otherwise.
Step 1: Place the rear seat belt buckle into the pocket located between the rear seatback and the cushion. Then, insert the rear seat belt into the guide to avoid any potential damage to the seat belt.
Step 2: Adjust the front seatback to an upright position and, if needed, move the front seat forward.
Step 3: Adjust the rear headrests to their lowest position.
Step 4: Engage the lock release lever (1) and firmly fold the rear seatback forward and down.

WARNING: Passengers should never sit on folded seatbacks while the vehicle is moving, as it is unsafe and lacks seat belts. This can result in serious injury or death during an accident or sudden stop. Items on folded seatbacks should not exceed the height of the front seats to prevent sliding and injuries.
Step 5: To use the rear seat, raise and pull the seatback backward. Ensure the seatback clicks securely into place by pulling it firmly. Confirm that the seatback is locked by pressing on the top.
Note: When returning the seatback to its upright position, always verify it is securely locked by pushing on the top of the seatback.
WARNING:
- When returning the rear seatback to its upright position, avoid damaging the seat belt or buckle. Ensure they are not caught, and check that the seatback is securely locked. An unsecured seatback can fold down in an accident, allowing cargo to enter the passenger area and cause serious harm.
- When raising the seatback to its upright position, hold it and move it slowly. If you don't hold it, the seatback could spring forward and cause injury by striking you.
Step 6: Place the rear seat belt back into its correct position.
Step 7: Once the seatback is fully installed, double-check the seatback folding lever to ensure it is properly secured.

NOTE: If you find it difficult to pull the seat belt from the retractor after setting the seatback upright, press the seatbelt and seatback simultaneously. Then, pull the belt out smoothly. This should allow the belt to extend without any issues.
