The Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) in the Ford Fusion is designed to enhance driver awareness and safety. This advanced feature uses radar sensors to monitor the areas next to and behind your vehicle that may not be visible in your mirrors, commonly known as blind spots. This system is a valuable aid to help drivers make safer lane changes and parking maneuvers. This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to operate the BLIS in your 2012 Ford Fusion L4 2.5L.

BLIS uses two radar sensors located near the rear bumper to detect vehicles in the blind spot extending approximately 10 feet (3 meters) behind and to the sides of your car where you can't see using mirrors.
If a vehicle enters the blind spot, an amber light illuminates on the corresponding side mirror.

The system activates automatically when you start the car and move forward at speeds above 3 mph (5 km/h).
It stays active at all speeds but will not work when the car is in reverse or park.
