How to use the feature

Note: The ignition switch must be in the ON position to open or close the sunroof.

How to Operate the Sunroof

1. Sunroof opening and closing

  • Opening the sunroof:

Push the sunroof control lever backward to the first detent position. Release the switch to stop the sunroof.

  • Closing the sunroof:

Push the sunroof control lever forward to the first detent position. Release the switch to stop the sunroof.

Closing the sunroof

Warning:

  • Ensure that heads, body parts, or other objects are clear of the area before closing the sunroof to prevent injuries or damage to the vehicle.
  • Objects smaller than 0.16 inches (4mm) in diameter that get caught between the sunroof glass and the front window channel may not be detected by the automatic reverse window, causing the window to not stop and reverse direction.

2. Sliding the sunroof

Momentarily pressing the sunroof control lever backward or forward to the second detent position will fully open or close the sunroof, even after the switch is released. To stop the sunroof at the desired position while it’s in motion, press the sunroof control lever backward or forward and then release the switch.

NOTE: To minimize wind noise while driving, it is recommended to drive with the sunroof slightly closed, stopping about 2 inches (5 cm) before the maximum open position.

3. Automatic reversal

Automatic reversal

If the sunroof encounters an obstruction while closing automatically, it reverses direction and stops to allow the object to clear.

4. Tilting the sunroof

Tilting the sunroof
  • Tilt the sunroof open:

Push the sunroof control lever upward until the sunroof reaches the desired position.

  • To close the sunroof:

Pull the sunroof lever downward until the sunroof reaches the desired position.

Warning:

  • Ensure that heads, body parts, or other objects are clear of the area before closing the sunroof to prevent injuries or damage to the vehicle.
  • Do not adjust the sunroof or sunshade while driving, as it may lead to loss of vehicle control and cause an accident.
  • To prevent serious injury or death, do not extend your head, arms, or body outside the sunroof while driving.

Caution:

  • Periodically clean any dirt that has collected on the sunroof guide rail or between the sunroof and roof panel, as it can cause noise.
  • Avoid opening the sunroof when the temperature is below freezing or when it is covered with snow or ice, as it could damage the motor.
  • Do not continue pressing the sunroof control lever once the sunroof has reached the fully open, closed, or tilt position to avoid damaging the sunroof and motor.

5. Sunshade

The sunshade opens automatically with the sunroof when the glass panel moves. If you prefer it closed, simply adjust the sunshade manually.

Caution:

The sunroof is designed to slide along with the sunshade. Avoid keeping the sunshade closed while the sunroof is open.

6. To reset the sunroof

The sunroof must be reset in the following situations:

  • The battery is discharged or disconnected, or if the related fuse has been disconnected or replaced.
  • The one-touch sliding function of the sunroof is not operating normally.

1. Place the ignition switch in the ON position.

2. Ensure the sunroof is fully closed.

3. Release the control lever.

4. Push the control lever forward until the sunroof tilts and moves up and down slightly, then release the lever.

5. Push the control lever forward until the sunroof operates as described below:

a. TILT OPEN → SLIDE OPEN → SLIDE CLOSE

b. Afterward, release the control lever.

If the sunroof still doesn't operate correctly after resetting, have the system inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
